Waineke Cabin Rules

Reservations:

Reservations are made only through the cabin coordinator.

The cabins may be reserved for a maximum of one week.

Confirmation of the reservation will be given two weeks prior to the requested date and only after full payment and the mandatory Indemnification Agreement is received. Please note that we are not able to refund any payments if the cabin user defaults on the reservation in part or in full.

Those with an unpaid balance from a previous rental will not be allowed make further reservations.

Keys will not be released until full payment and the mandatory Indemnification Agreement is received.

Upon Arrival: Please note that pets and open campfires are not allowed!

  1. Take caution when stepping out of your vehicle as the grass may be slippery.
  2. Gas, electricity and water should have been left on. In the event that the water needs to be turned on or off, the valve for Cabin A is located at the left-hand corner of the cabin; the valve for Cabin B is located at the base of the entry ramp.

Before Leaving:

  1. Help control rodents: Do not leave any food, bar soap, or flowers anywhere.
  2. Clean out the wood stove, taking the ashes to the metal drum behind Cabin B.
  3. Clean all sinks, toilets, and showers. Take all soap and shampoo out.
  4. If in Cabin A, make sure hot water heater switch is OFF (Located on the wall by the bathroom).
  5. Make sure all windows, doors, and the parking chain are securely locked.
  6. Take all trash back out with you.
  7. If you experience any trouble with the cabins, please report this as soon as possible upon your return. Emergencies should be reported immediately.

An evaluation and check-out list is included with the keys. Please use it!

Other Items of Importance:

  1. If both cabins are occupied, please respect the privacy of the occupants of the other cabin. Quiet time is 9pm.
  2. Suggested check-in time is 1:00pm. Check-out time is 12:00pm.
  3. Feel free to leave behind any unused wood for future campers.
  4. The individual who makes the reservation shall be responsible to see that all the rules are followed and shall be liable for any loss or damage.
  5. There will be a $100 cleaning fee assessed if the cabins are not cleaned thoroughly.
  6. There is a pay phone at Kokee Lodge. Cell phones do not work at Waineke.
  7. If you inadvertently take an item that does not belong to you, please return it to Andrea Kaohi in Hanapepe
  8. Pets are not allowed inside
  9. The Waineke Committee reserves the right to access and inspect the cabins at any time and without fore-notice to renters.
  10. Future cabin use shall be denied to individuals who do not follow the policies and expressed rules of the Waineke Cabins.
  11. The United Church of Christ is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property while at Waineke.
  12. Please remember: Waineke is a place of retreat and great care should be exercised to maintain peace and tranquility while there.
